Our 2door side by side freezer fridge has a funny fault. Everything freezes in fridge and freezer at the bottom. But at top of both sides it’s warmer. The green lights which show temperature setting show 2 lights on freezer, which should be one, and there’s no light for fridge. Plus the settings don’t work. Local technician said its a blown fan, it’s not working. He has had 2 blown fans in one week. But warranty is ended, so where’s the consumers protection when manufacturers have a known problem part, but only have 24 month warranty.
There’s a few reasons why a fan fails. Sounds like the reason your settings aren’t working is because the unit is giving an error code. Try unplugging the unit for a minute to reset the board then plug back in. Do the settings work? The freezer fan could be covered in ice due to a defrost issue. If you turn off unit for a few days to defrost it then plug in, see if fan works then. If so, the problem is in defrost circuit.
