Seems to be no info on the internet about this. I guess this would be a partially faulty charging ic gone bad from liquid damage? It charges up fine if the screen is turned on but not when the screen is turned off.
Sorry Ben, I just saw this; you should have tagged me. This may be due to one of the “Alive” lines. You should check out PMU_TO_PHOTON_ALIVE (FL2050) or SYS_ALIVE_TIGRIS (PP1V8_SDRAM / XW1401) to see if they or their associated circuits are okay.
