I’ve liquid damaged my system. It’s somewhat salvageable but I’d like an upgrade. I’ve successfully upgraded the HDD to 1 TB SSD. What’s the latest Macbook pro I can transfer the drive into?
Sorry you can’t install your 2.5” SSD into any newer MacBook Pro. The retina series 2012 ~ 2014 uses a newer blade type of SSD. And the 2016 onward systems now have soldered storage on the logic board. The best you can do is get a case to hold your drive so you can leverage it in your newer system. Frankly, if you like having the ports maybe you need to find another 2012 Unibody MacBook Pro! Or, look at fixing yours. Depending how wet your system got it might be not as painful as you think! How about giving us a bit more detail on what happened and what you’ve done so far.
