Chosen Solution
I dropped water on my New Nintendo 3DS XL all was ok, buttons, turning on, screens, everything, the problem is when the console tries to recognize the mini sd card, just don’t recognize the mini sd card, sometimes the console recognize the memory but after a couple minutes a message appear saying that the console can’t read the card, I think that the problem is only with the mini sd card reader but well, what do you think?
roy0048 , You should stop powering on your device and open the device up and clean it of liquid damage and corrosion. Below are links to aid in the process. Link #1 is a tear down guide to show how to open the device to access internals, 2nd link is a general guide telling how to clean the device from liquid damage/corrosion. The 3rd link is trouble shooting guide for mini SD card problem if still not working after clean up. 4th link is the replacement part(reader) which you can replace if you would like while device is apart.Good luck.
