Hi there, I’ve sent my iPhone 7 Jet black 128 GB to Apple in order to have assistance since the phone speaker stopped working properly (the one you bring to your ear, it still works but sound appears softened). In their diagnostics they say the phone has received liquid damage and they have provided a picture to ‘prove it’ (wasn’t it supposed to be proved thanks to the red indicators?). I can’t figure out which part of the phone this is, I’ve watched several teardowns but still couldn’t understand. Can you please help me out here? Thank you Here’s the pic they sent me:

That’s near the haptic feedback engine vibrator motor at the bottom left of the phone. And yeah those are clear signs of liquid damage.

You had me wondering too! Not a very good image! Here’s an image of the bottom case:

The curved line is the cut in the black insulator sheet. Even looking at 3 possible cuts I can’t seem to line it up with the gold connector and the other parts which is also visible in your picture. The best I can see here is the button/mic cable but the angle of the image is off.

Which is the top part of the phone not the bottom which I would have figured the moisture would have entered.
