I have Problem with my PB G4 15", when suddenly the LCD Display has a line that looks like EQUAL Sign vertically all over the the LCD Display. But when i attached this to my other Mac through Target mode the line doesn’t appear anymore, that means the problem is the LCD not the Video.right? And i decided to use the NVRAM & PRAM Procedure the line was fixed but after a week the line again appeared. is there any other way i could fix this. What d’yo think, i should replace my LCD now or i should proceed again to PRAM & NVRAM before i replace my LCD? Hope i could get some other options. Thanks!

since i had a few of those problems on my desk, i would say it’s the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) - or easier: the Video Card! the “equal” sign can be vertical or sometimes diagonal but most of the times it looks like this:

I would try the PRAM and NVRAM resets one more time. If that doesn’t resolve your issue, then I would look into the data cable, and have a go at that. The fact that that you booted via target mode to another machine doesn’t actually prove that your video card isn’t bad, when u boot via target mode you’re only using the HDD from the affected machine, your still using the Hardware from the other machine. The best way to test your video would be to hook up the affected machine to a external display, this way you can really rule out the video card. If thats succesfull, then you might start looking into another display if the Data cable isnt bad. You will need this guide if your going to look into the Data cable or replace the display.

My My My! Yes that’s the one that my PB G4 looks like. Thanks for some Help guys. hope i can fix this one. I’ll miss my PB G4, almost using this for more than 6 years since i bought it.. Sigh! :(
