It is a couple years old, and its HDMI ports have been failing one by one over the span of months. Also, HDMI signals very occasionally black out for a few seconds and then come back. First, HDMI3 stopped working entirely. Then, HDMI2. Now, HDMI1 stopped, and only HDMI4 works at all. I’ve tried multiple devices as input, and rebooting & resetting the TV, but it doesn’t make a difference. LG referred me to a technician, but it is out of warranty. Do you think this is likely a problem with the main board, and a replacement main board would be likely to fix it? Is this a relatively simple procedure? Thanks for the info!
David, this sounds like an issue with the main board. Check all other video input sources first. That includes RCA Component, Coax, and whatever else you may have. Let us know if that made a change. If not it is most likely your main board that has a failed video processor.
May be your cable? or the connected device is sending something that destroys your HDMI.
