My LG G4 got exposed to water. I dried it out and everything was working fine except for the loudspeaker. Lots of buzzing when trying to play something through it. So I replaced the speaker and am still facing the same issue. What should I troubleshoot next?
Nice. A blow dryer. So let’s try using this guide and see where that gets us Electronics Water Damage
@tpick33 I do agree with @theimedic You definitely could do better. Using compressed air will only push the water (and the debris in the water) under components i.e IC’s and can cause corrosion and short circuits. A blow dryer will evaporate e the water but again will leave the component in the water that are responsible for corrosion etc. Startbby cleaning the board properly. Use the guide the was provide by iMedic or use this one. It was written for an iPhone but all the points are still pertinent to your phone as well. Use this guide to remove the motherboard. Once you have all that done, and nothing has changed, you can try and trouble shoot the board. It is possible that the distorted sound is caused by a failed speaker circuitry or by a failed receiver circuitry. I attached troubleshooting guides for both of those.
in my case L6700 is peeled off because the phone fell to the ground. everything working fine except loudspeaker… bought new loudspeaker module but that didn’t solve the problem. it was before the discovery that the L6700 is peeled off
