I started replacing the battery on an iPhone 5S but I’m having issues: I can boot up the phone by pressing the power button, but once it’s booted it doesnt seem to work anymore. Unless I press it 3 times, then the emergency menu pops up. It also works if I press the power button if the phone’s locked. But I can’t lock the phone if I press it again. Volume buttons also don’t work. Also having issues with LCD flicker, but this could resolve by itself? I checked the upper component cable but can’t see any damage. Also didn’t pry there. Very first time I have this issue, especially because the cable doesn’t show any damages at all. Same issue happens with another battery and with the original battery. Any ideas? *edit: the very weird thing is: when I want to lock the screen with assistive touch, it doesn’t work either. Looks like a software issue then? Same problem after reset *edit2: after connecting to wifi ( and auto set right time) it all works again.. Except the flicker , but I assume that’s some static that should go away by itself?
the flicker is USUALLY the screen callibrating to the phone. i usually tell customers to give the screen three days to let it settle, and if it continues, to replace the screen.
