I am trying to replace my defective LCD display. I’m not going to go through the trouble of trying to locate the problem and fix it locally. I noticed that the model no. for the Macbook Pro 13" Unibody Mid-2009 is 661-5232. For the equivalent Mid-2010 model, that number is 661-5558. However, ifixit.com and a number of other websites sell complete LCD displays for mid-2009 and mid-2010 models as one type of display (as opposed to the 2011 and 2012 models). Does that mean that if I were to get my hands on an LCD display for a mid-2010 model (661-5558), it would be compatible with my mid-2009 model? FYI, most sellers (not ifixit.com, though) state and sell LCD displays as either 661-5232 for mid-2009 Macbook Pro 13" or 661-5558 for mid-2010 Macbook Pro 13". Just wondering if there’s even a difference or if it’s just a number thing. Thanks for your help anybody!

lcds on 13" Pro’s are all the same (except retina)

One possible approach for confirmation…search ebay (or some other LCD retailer) for your part number and see if the available displays include both numbers.
