Hi guys, I’ve recently changed the screen on my MacBook Pro mid 2012 and I’m stuck on the last bit. I can’t get the clip down on the LCD ribbon on the motherboard. The Ribbon will go into the port, but I can’t get the metal clip to go over the connector which holds it in place. I’ve pushed the connector into the port on the motherboard as far as it can possibly go. However, I don’t think it’s enough as the clip can’t clear the connector. Anyone got any ideas?
Gently work the connector into the port after examining it for anything bent or amiss and Both blowing with canned air and looking into the receptacle. It’s a tight fit , but holding it between thumb and forefinger, slowly walk it in moving slightly back and forth. The metal retains wire should then drop high into place.
