Chosen Solution
I saw an ad for a 17" iMac Model A1173 (Intel) for cheap with a bad LCD. Can I replace it with the LCD from a 17" G5 (A1058, bad logicboard) I have access to? Both have native resolutions of 1440 X 900.
Apple part #s 661-3626 G5 661-3879 Intel I say to give it a try. What have you got to lose. They are not listed as compatible, but who knows.
