Hello all - any help very much appreciated. Have some ever-present “stagelight” or “spotlight” effect at the bottom of my screen, as seen in the first picture. Also, as seen in the second, the display at time locks at fades into garbled lines.

http://i.imgur.com/8Ttn4xk.jpg It works perfectly on external monitor, also the second image is intermittent, and moving the screen or applying pressure to the bezel helps resolve it. In addition, at anything less than full brightness there’s a quiet high-pitched [incredibly annoying!] “whine” that gets quieter as brightness is lowered. Here’s the relevant area on my logic board… looks ok: http://i.imgur.com/f5RRNoP.jpg
This a problem with the LCD itself or just the LVDS cable possibly? Works perfectly when connected to an external monitor.
Far M, the stage lighting could be caused by issues with the LED returns. Check the resistors around your LVDS connector. Also check the LED driver. For that you will of course need the logic board schematic, the boardview files and a good multimeter. Looking at your images, it is also conceivable that you need a new display. Might be the best place to start off.
