Hello, recently I bought a charger for my acer aspire 5740, but when I power it on it does not show anything on the screen, fans are working, and the harddrive is running, but it does not show anything on the screen, not even the acer logo whe it boots up, the screen is not broken as it worked last night. The ram might be the problem since I put a 4gb ram stick and a 1gb ram stick that I salvaged from an old Macbook.
Try one RAM module at a time and see if either one works on its own.
