Hi, my R430 Samsung laptop randomly shuts down within 1 hr of booting up, even with very minimal usage. No blue screen. Power light is either red or red flashing with amber. Battery has been dead for a while so I just run it on power. Is it most likely an adaptor problem, or a motherboard short circuit ? Thanks
@hubertwee there are a few possibilities and you want to check all of them. Sure it could be your AC adapter but I would also start considering replacing the battery as well as cleaning the fan and heatsink to make sure that your airflow is not blocked and your laptop shutting down because of higher temps. At this point it does not sound like it is a motherboard issue.
Hi, it might be a caused by overheating - are internal fan(s) are working ok and air vents aren’t blocked. In general, does laptop feels hot especially underneath?
