My laptop was working perfectly fine until a friend wanted to use my charger on his laptop. after he used it on his laptop. I plugged it up to mines when i needed it and it wouldnt charge the light was just dim green. when i test the charger magsafe connector i see a reading so the charger is working i believe. I also replaced the dc board, battery and charger still no luck the charger lights show a faint / dim green light and thats all. The laptop was last working fine until the battery ran all the way out. So the laptop works it just wont charge or run off the charger even without the battery. I have tried all smc reset and still no luck
Ouch! This doesn’t sound good here. The charging logic on the logic board appears to be damaged. Often I see this when the MagSafe connector on the system was zapped by static electricity. We had a run of these due to the computer bags we bought which had polyester linings. When you pulled the system in or out they sometimes would get hit (more so during the winter when the air was dry). It took us awhile to figure it out. After treating the bags, and a little education to our users we have seen fewer burnt logic boards.
