Brian, since it is working fine with an external monitor, I seriously doubt it is the motherboard. I would probably start with a new inverter, then an LCD. Also, check the cable, it is possible that it does have a short in it, which could cause that behaviour. Something like this should work and it’s not to expensive. Hope this helps, good luck.
Try wiggling the screen; any difference? If it works after a little while of being on, and the cable is not the issue, it’s possible there is an issue with the ATi (AMD) chip, I’ve had it happen to an old laptop before. Although that should be easy to fix. Apparently sometimes the external monitor runs off a separate chip, on some laptops.
Hello there I have a Leveno Y50-70 and the connector on the motherboard is broke. What is that part called on this I need to replace it and have no clue what part it is.. That’s why it flickers so much for me. Thank You in Advance :)
