Chosen Solution
My Toshiba laptop was working fine until the public network it was on all of a sudden disconnected and when I tried to troubleshoot the adapter , the computer slowed down and turned off then. Restarting and not fixing the issue.
Go into Control Panel, Device Manager, Network adapters and Uninstall Device then reboot computer. If the driver is corrupted this may fix the problem when Windows re-installs it. Try also updating the driver.
