I have a Mid 2010 15" Macbook Pro (with on i5 processor) that recently had a zone of keys stop responding. Using the QWRTY layout: Period, M, L, K, U, I, and O no longer respond. Comma works fine, which is weird. I thought something had spilled on it so I ordered a replacement keyboard. Replacing the keyboard was no small task. I found no evidence of water or coffee….and the replacement has exactly the same issues. I have cleaned the keyboard connector with alcohol and blew it out with air, but It still does not work. Would you suspect the logic board has failed? If so, would an upgraded board work in this unit (i7 maybe). Thanks in advance for your help.
Strange one. try an external USB keyboard and let us know if the symptom persists.
