Dear all, I could really do with some assistance here if possible. A friend came to see us with her MBPro and I spilled a cup of coffee over the KB. We immediately powered it down, dried it and she powered it on only to find the the KB was not functioning and could not enter her passcode. It then failed to boot at all the next time. I tore it down with the help of one of the guides and cleaned everything with isopropyl. I put it back together and lo and behold the device boots successfully ! We have wifi, we have battery power indicator, KB backlight and sounds, that as far as we can tell. Residual issues are as follows - Some keys work - some dont. The Enter key adds a character rather than serves as enter The power button fails to power up the device To clean the keys, I separated the black keyboard plastic / clear and white plastic under covers and cleaned from beneath the logic board. I got as far as the metal keyboard frame with a million phillips screws but did not release the screws. I would be grateful for any advice on how to get the KB and pwoer buttons working again as my designer friend is without her work tool and distraght. Many thanks in advance. Ron I wonder what this c

Ron it sounds like you did your best here to recover from the spill. Sadly, you’ll need to either dig deeper into the keyboard taking it fully apart (the 50+ screws) and hope you can clean out whats messing things up. Or, you’ll need to replace the keyboard unit which is what I would do here same amount of work but less cleaning and less of a gamble of things still not working. The last possibility is to replace the whole upper case assembly while the most expensive it’s the quickest way to get this going.
