I swapped my Macbook Pro 15" (A1286) 2.53GHz keyboard with a Macbook Pro 15" (A1286) Core i7 2.66. After swapping both keyboard i encountered problem with my backlight. Now it’s only illuminating at the center. How should i fix this problem? Thank you! Update Hi, this seems to be a common problem… it happened to me in 2 different MacBook Pro 15" Unibody systems. I have to disassembly both (in different situations) and once they where reassembled with complete care and reconnecting everything (even the backlight cable that’s under one of the coolers) the keyboard backlight is uneven, mostly at the center. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Hi again, the problem was that I moved the backlight’s plastic background a bit (maybe yanked the cable while disassembling). This “plastic background” is where the LEDs are connected. So I disassembled all again, lightly pressed the zone where the LEDs are attached and presto! Working perfectly again! Thanks!
Try reconnecting the keyboard cables and looking in the ports for any debris that may be blocking connection, also cleaning out with canned air.
