Kenmore upright freezer . Frost free . Model # 253.28712803 . It does not cool down to 0. The temperature control reads 12 degrees and the inside temperature is 20 degrees . I used a freezer thermometer . The temperature control will read 0 when the compressor turns off but inside it is 18 degrees . What is wrong with it ?
Hi @barb5 , It may be a faulty temperature sensor Its’ location is not shown on the ”system” parts diagram where it is listed as part #NI -not indicated, but presumably it will be in the freezer compartment possibly behind the panel where the evaporator unit is located. Hopefully it is not the control board that is the problem. Have you checked that the condenser coils at the back on the outside of the freezer cabinet are clean and dust free? Just a thought.
