Chosen Solution

So I was looking to see why the door latch was not closing tightly over the ice chute of my ice dispenser on the front of my freezer door. Once inside I saw that the pin had popped out of place that had the spring on it to close the hatch properly. When I went to pop the pin back in, the force of the spring on the pin pushed against the plastic hook-shaped molded piece and broke it. I don’t think any amount of glue is going to hold this piece into place, so the only other solution (besides not using it) would be to replace Part #1 in the diagram shown in the picture. However, I have not been able to find a part number or anyone selling this piece. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Called and talked to Whirlpool. They said the reason it is not serviceable is because that part is foamed into the door. So I’m going to have to come up with another solution to repair the broken piece.
