The highest system this machine will take is El Capitan Pre-Installed MacOS:X 10.5.8Maximum MacOS:X 10.11.x* https://everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/… UPDATE 3/2022 DosDude has now come out with work arounds and patches. which allow for system upgrades to unsupported Macs. I have had fair luck using them.
That’s wrong that’s not what Apple said Apple said it could be updated to Mojave
