MacBook mid 2008 i just replaced the original 1GB RAM sticks with 2 new 2GB RAM sticks i purchased from you guys. it took minutes and was really simple btw. when i went to startup the computer it beeped three times with a grey screen about every 5 seconds…. i immediately shut the thing down and replaced my original RAM to which it booted up just fine. i know i seated them properly, so could i have purchased the wrong RAM sticks or are these new ones not working like they should? this is the original stick.

Try all the sticks individually to see what will work. Did you originally have two or one ram stick installed. If you are unlucky it could be a bad ram slot. There is some pretty useful info here: One Ram slot gone Bad….
