Chosen Solution
When I press my L, ZL, or DPad I get input like the control stick is being pushed down. If I go into Calibrate Control Sticks and press any of the mention buttons I get signal like the control stick is being press down. Not sure what the problem is. Faulty board, shorted circuit, debris stuck somewhere etc.
Update for anyone with this odd symptom. I disassembled the joycon until only the battery was attached. The dpad showed the correct behaviour. I plugged the L button in and results were perfect as well. It was until I plugged the control stick in that the dpad and L button began showing contick stick input when pressed. Unusual but I did swap to a brand new control stick and all the issues were fixed.
