Chosen Solution

We have a iphone 5s in our shop for data recovery. The phone had liquid damage (or so the customer says) we didn’t fine much or any sign of corrosion on the logic board. The phone turns on but does not pass the Apple logo. We preformed ultrasonic cleaning and got the phone to go to the iTunes screen which says the phone is in recovery mode after plugging it in. When we try to update with itunes it says “iPhone could not be updated: error code -1” Does anyone know what this error might be and if there is a solution for getting past this? Thank you

Hardware failure. It comes from when the Baseband (IMEI) of the IPhone corrupted. Have you tried putting it into dfu, and restoring it to factory? Open iTunes and connect the iPhone to your Mac. Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time. After exactly 10 seconds release the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode
