My MacBook Pro got coffee spilled on it. After shutting it down and turning it on again the screen was white with som vertical stripes on it. What do I do?
Disassemble the Macbook and remove the logic board using guides on this site. Clean it using a brush and isopropyl, or take it to a company who can clean it using a professional ultrasonic cleaner preferably. Check for burnt pins or melted plastic on the LCD cable pins and around the LCD connector as well. If it has been left for a while the cable and soldered components may need to be replaced.
Any liquid on computers is not good. I would look at the guides here to disassemble the keyboard and the mainboard and see if you see any liquid still. Dry it up and then let the computer stand for about a day before you turn it on again. If you are lucky the liquid did not do nay permanent damage and it might start again. Should it start the first thing is to buck up the data on it since it sometimes does not start the next time.
