He’s a weird one. My husband is hearing impaired. Most of the time when we watch dvds or Blu-ray Discs they are SDH -subtitled via the disc menu options-however we are finding that many series on DVD are CC (closed captioned) only. My Sanyo Smart Tv has CC as an option but it won’t play them. I’m assuming that maybe it is only set up to decode CC through a cable or satellite source and not a video player? Do I need to buy a decoder box?
@ashmcintosh you are right. Your smart TV cannot get the CC signal from the DVD but your DVD player should play it correctly on your smart TV. I do not think that a decoder box would make a difference.
