Chosen Solution

Hi everyone, I’m new to this site so be gentle. I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 320-15ISK model (i3-6006U; 8gb RAM; 1TB hdd). The problem is, the system is painfully slow, especially on startup, so I’m thinking about getting an ssd, but I want to keep the hdd as secondary storage. But, I can’t find any information about M.2 compatibility with this product. I’ve watched a couple disassembly videos, and I think there is an M.2 slot on the MoBo but there isn’t any information about this, at least in my knowledge. So my question is, is there any slot for an upgrade or I need to replace the HDD with a 2,5" SSD drive?

Hi @danh_91 , Here is a link to the service manual for your laptop. There is no mention in it regarding an M.2 slot or that an M.2 board is even used in any of the model’s variants. If you have no need of the ODD you could replace it with a caddy to hold your 1TB HDD for use as the storage drive and insert a SSD as the main drive. On p.72-73 there is a list of SSDs that are used in the various models. Hopefully this is of some help.
