The LCD plug of my Late 2009 iMac 27-inch is slightly at an angle, as shown on the picture below. It’s slightly loose as when I press it down with my finger, it moves back down, parallel to the logic board. Is this normal, or is the pin supposed to be parallel to the logic board and solidly secured to it? I found that I need to stick something on the LCD cable so that it enters the plug at an angle, otherwise there is nothing displayed on the LCD.
Yes, the connector has been yanked from the logic board. Most likely someone pulled on the cable when removing the display or pulled it away when trying to disconnect the cable. I would be careful here as the connecter is now floating so only the solder joints are holding things together (very fragile). A good pull or press could snap the connection of one or more pins to the logic board. If you have over stressed things here you’ll need to replace the logic board, Ouch!
Not normal. The socket will break away a little more. This socket is easy to plug in but it will solve the problem of replacing the solders without removing them completely right and left head brackets solders
