Frankly I would just use a hair dryer or heat gun (variable temp). A wet paper towel is risky! The water could sneak in! The other factor is it doesn’t have enough heat mass.
For difficult things to heat up safely, I wrap therm in a clean cup towel, turn my toaster oven on to bake and sit them on top for a couple of hours.
