Okay so I dropped my phone twice. The cracks on the screen came from me dropping it on concrete about a month ago but it didn’t do anything to the phone besides make it hard to see. So the cracks aren’t the problem or what I’m looking to fix right now. Two days ago I was at a friends house and I dropped my phone on the ground. I saw it happen and I think it fell screen firsts and it’s weird because I’ve dropped my phone like this before and it didn’t do this to the screen. So I can’t use the screen. The touch is completely gone and when I turn on the lock screen it starts to add more white lines and makes the screen more and more white until it locks again.
And there is a large black blob on the one side. It spreads when you press down on it and collects back when it just sits there. I also notice a shard of glass of the touch screen has been chipped off so I think that has something to do with it. The piece is chipped off in the same corner as the blob. I’ve seen a blob like that in a broken calculator. My friend said it was “bleeding pixles”
Can I fix it or should I just get a new one?
Hi, In a simple answer, yes, this can be fixed, and quite easily if you follow an ifixit guide or several videos on YouTube that can show you. From the pictures, the drop has damaged the LCD itself, but this isn’t an issue, since when you buy a new screen, the LCD and glass come pre bonded together. :-)
It’s a moderate difficulty repair, here’s how: iPhone 5c Screen Replacement: Here’s everything you’ll need to do the repair: iPhone 5c Screen I also recommend getting a protective case, like this: https://store.google.com/product/speck_c….
