Chosen Solution

Hi, I recently dropped my Macbook Air M1 from a tiny distance and the screen is not working anymore. Apple says it’s 428$ to fix. I don’t have that money, so, I thought fixing it myself was an option, I haven’t even moved past the replacement display prices so the computer has been catching dust and as a student I really need it. Does anyone know of any way to find affordable replacements or anything. I feel like i’ve searched the whole world. Lol.

It works like new but hates external displays.

Ouch! From the frying pan into the fire! Sorry, the availability of the needed display is very tight between COVID messing up production and this being a very new system. Your only option is if you had already bought the extended warranty contract from Apple which would have at least made the sting less hurtful. These displays are selling around $580 USD if you can find one. While it’s not ideal, can you afford a new system? That way you can continue your studies and then when parts become available get your system fixed and see one of them to recoup the costs. Otherwise it’s a trip to the Apple Store and paying the piper the cost of a new display.
