After an accident my Macbook is probably totaled (new screen and logic board), but I wondered whether you know of any external interface for the SSD? Even to an internal SATA connector would be fine.
As far as I know, they only do the adaptor for the newer SSDs to either an M.2 NGFF format or PCI-E format (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Adapter-Card-t…) You may be able to then get an M.2 NGFF to SATA adaptor, then a SATA to USB cable, but it is a lot of adaptors, so I am not sure how fast or practical it would be.
