Hello. I recently replaced the thermal paste for my MacBook Air 2017 following the ifixit guide. When reassembling everything, I turned on the laptop and found out the MacBook charger was turning orange or green which the MacBook wasn’t charging, the audio wasn’t working, the computer wasn’t sleeping and the fan isn’t working (0rpm). I used Apple Diagnostics which found problems with the fan and the SMC. My question is there a problem with the I/O flex cable, I/O board or the logic board?

PPF004 - There may be an issue with the fan.PFM006 - There may be an issue with the System Management Controller (SMC) The first one I’ve listed here is the more important one! The second is based on the first ones fault and/or something deeper! So… I would download this app to help you diagnose things TG Pro It will allow you to see the RPM of your fan. I’m suspecting its not running to well if at all. This could be as simple as dust and debris jamming it up, or it just could have failed. Here’s the guide to get to it MacBook Air 13" Early 2017 Fan Replacement. I would also check the connections given the fact you might have disconnect it if you took the logic board out. What Thermal paste did you use and did you over do it, getting paste onto the green chip carrier components (a common issue). Here’s the needed part if the fan has failed fully MacBook Air 13" (Late 2010-2017) Fan Thats not to say thats your only problem! We need to solve this first.
