I’m looking into upgrading the storage on two iPhones and want to know if there is a difference between the NAND flash memory chips. Namely the 6s and SE (gen 1). I know I need to program the NAND before installing it on the logic board so will I need a separate programmer for each phone model? Are the NAND chips interchangeable between these two phones?
Just comparing the teardowns, the model number for the actual NAND chip for the 6S and the SE 1st gen are the same. At least for the Toshiba branded NAND on the phones they tore down. And it looks like they both use the same layout and pin outs. I have never done it personally, but it seems possible.
