I’ve been on a quest to upgrade my laptop. The first step is upgrading the RAM. According to a helpful member of the Apple community, 6GB is the maximum for this machine. That would mean I’d need a 4GB and a 2GB module in my laptop. I currently have 2x 2GB. Now, I’ve been searching all over for a 4 GB module DDR2 667mhz, but can’t seem to find one! I’ve contacted a few suppliers, and they can’t seem to find one with any of their suppliers as well. Is the 4GB an urban legend or does someone know where to find one?
This laptop does support 6GB, you have to find a 4GB module that works, since not all of them will. I haven’t actually looked this up before since 4GB is enough for me…… however once you find the brands and models of the 4GB module you need. Newegg.com will have it (they have all kinds of memory). I like G Skill brand if that helps and is one of the compatible brands/models your looking for.
I special ordered a couple from www.ramdirect.com last week The 4 GB modules are not listed on the site yet but they have them. If calling ask for Joseph Bettencourt (the owner) and mention I sent you, and he’ll give you a decent price.
