MacBook Pro Retina 13” (Late 2013)(11,1) 2.4 GHz Core i5 My wife’s built-in MBP keyboard has stopped working in a couple of areas. I performed an SMC and PRAM reset and it didn’t help. Paired a bluetooth Apple keyboard, and it works just fine. Keys not working on left side: F1, `, q, a, z Keys not working on right side: F11, F12, delete I’ve opened it up and can see no liquid damage. Upon disconnecting and reconnecting (reconnecting was difficult!) the keyboard connector, a few more keys became unusable. So I did it again and now it’s back to just the ones from before, leading me to believe there are some bad sockets in there. Is this replaceable without welding? Edit: I may also attempt to replace just the cable, as that seems easier. I can’t see any issues with the connector itself, but the cable is questionable - the blue film around the connections is coming up in a spot.
@daviddoes Yes, it is but will require soldering. If you have never soldered on a logicboard I’d let someone else do it. I am not convinced that this is a bad connector. I am with you on the cable or even the keyboard being the issue. You would have to let us know the exact model of your MBP for further help.
