Chosen Solution

I am thinking about doing a keyboard replacement for my MacBook Pro but the battery must be pried off first. Instead of forcing it off, I found the adhesive remover in the store, but I’m hesitant to spend $33 for a solution that is similar to alcohol. Has anything else worked for anyone?

Hi @davchun Watch the provided link and at 8 Second, pause, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8krNjKEs… It mentions contain Acetone

, etc almond fragrance….

Check out aldon-chem website and search for sds, or google “aldon chem sds”. Chemical name “AA-0051”. The sds says it’s 99.8% acetone, 0.1% Cherry Almond Fragrance and 0.1% FD&C Blue #1 (C.I. No. 42090). It’s all public information.

I went to Walgreens and get 100% acetone nail polish remover. It works

I started using pure methanol a couple of years before iFixit found a solution.

I am thinking of replacing my macbook pro battery. Hesitant to buy an adhesive remover. But wouldn’t the acetone/nail polish remover damage or erode the old battery and causing problems?? I mean the old battery should be pretty fragile, I suppose..

Is it just Concentrated Windshield Washer Solvent with Ammonia?
