I’ve looked at both batteries, same capacity, same size and plug. Aren’t they both essentially the same battery?

I’ve replaced today the battery of my HTC M8 and found in my phone the 2840 mAh battery. It’s the first replacement, since i bought it in 2016. Also both batterys working fine.

Hi Ben, If I was going to nitpick, the official specs for the M9 is a 2840 mAH battery and the M8 is a 2600mAH battery but yes essentially they are the same in every other aspect.

the battery can fit in either one and it is compatible without damaging your phone

I can tell you, from experience, the HTC One M9 and the HTC One M9+ have the same battery.

The m9 battery is 3.83v,2860mah,m8 is 3.8v,2600mah. May be it can work well after change but you’d better not do this for safety.
