Looking to get the glass replaced on an iPad 4 and have the iPad 3 glass on hand. Wondering if they are the same? Didn’t see a definitiv answer on the tear down but I’m assuming they are? Thanks!

So I just tested an iPad 3 Digitizer and LCD, They Work. They are fully compatible with each other.

No they don’t different length a width in flex cable yea the cable connects and works but fitting the flex between the LCD and frame is a nightmare just buy the screen for the model iPad you need.. Tryed and tested yesterday and both flexes have a slight difference

Hi why would you want to use an ipad 4 touch panel on your ipad 3 for?, if you see a pattern most likely it is not the same, what i mean is if you compare Ipad 2 touch panel and Ipad 3 touch panel cable, they are not the same, so most likely not the same connector.

I used an ipad 3 digitiser and it worked

Ipad 3 glass works on ipad 4. Tested and confirmed. Watch out for the home button though as there’s a flex cable that runs to the side and connects to the logic board now.

Apple does this all the time. The LCD digitizer on the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G are the same (same with 2nd and 3rd gen iPod Touch), only the connector is slightly changed. The LCD on the iPad and iPad 2 is the same, only the frame around it is different.

I have also confirmed that iPad 3 digitizer works on a 4.

Yea be careful when prying on the lower left of the home button, there is a thin ribbon cable there for the home button that can easily be damage.

Yes, iPad 3rd gen digitizer is the very same as iPad 4th gen.
