Hello, I have just installed mostly a 2009 motherboard to a late 2006 MacBook model MA699B/A which I did my homework as it was a A1181 compatible, but discovered that a the black plug cable from the screen unit that accompanied the airport card didn’t fit the port that was apart of my failed logic board nor did the optical drive cable. I’m wondering if I got the wrong board that wasn’t compatible with my MacBook?
A1181 have been manufactured with small differences here and there that prevent logic boards swapping between different years. I’ve had around at least 3/4 different A1181 boards that don’t cross fit, due to differences mainly in connectors and lvds cables. Best thing is to check carefully logic board code number of the one you have to replace and get exactly the one you need.
