Hello! I wanna upgrade my iMac EMC2133 original configuration and add some RAM. I found some ram stick of DDR2 PC2-6400, and those are usually backwards compatible in most mainboards, but i don´t know if this is the case. I know that it uses 667 ram, but it will work with 800Mhz ram? Thanks!
Won’t work you have the wrong machine for that type RAM. You’d need a 2210 iMac8,1 for the RAM you found. If this Answer is helpful please remember to return and mark it Accepted.
It does work. I found confirmation of this on a different site and have just installed some. Works perfectly.
Also, this site works EXTREMELY well for specs on all Macs and iDevices. http://everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/… You can look up each Mac, down to serial number and then open a large list of specs. Standard RAM: 1 GB Maximum RAM: 6 GB* Details: 1 GB of RAM is installed as a single SO-DIMM module. *Apple officially supports 4 GB of RAM, but third-parties have been able to upgrade the system to 6 GB of RAM using one 2 GB and one 4 GB memory module.
