hey, if i have to replace my broken screen and put a new one (its funcional but broken), why is it necessary to uninstall the home button?? in step 15 the guide start to tell us to do this, but is it necessary? appreciate the help or respone.
You’ll need to transfer the home button to the new screen to maintain TouchID and in some devices, maintain the return to home function when the button is pressed. The home buttons with TouchID on Apple products are paired to each board with a unique key that cannot be transferred or reprogrammed. Some screen assemblies may have a new button attached but it’s either a dummy or will only return to home when the button is pressed.
