Hi i recieved the ps4 for xmas from my wife so its now only 3-4 months old,the power inlet is slack and therefore is a real pest to get the system up and running when i eventually get going it with no warning cuts off after 20 mins maximum im now really concerned about it.is this something i cood repair myself?because i no longer have the reciept for the playstation and am worried that its been a waste of money

The bad news is that yes, there is something wrong with your PS4. The good news is that its probably fixable. There are 2 likely possibilities:

  1. If the power cord is loose when you plug it into the PS4 then that could be creating a faulty connection when the console is turned on and you are using it. If this is the case then you would either need to get a new power supply or find someone to fix the power supply. My business can repair most power supplies and there may be others out there as well.
  2. Sometimes when a PS4 turns off randomly it’s because the solder joints under the APU are faulty. If this is the case it can usually be fixed as well. I hope this helps.
