Hello, recently I have replaced my battery on my iPhone 7 Plus. I’ve put the adhesive between the screen and the rear case. I’ve also sucked lightly from the SIM tray hole and it formed a weak vacuum. Is my iPhone still water-resistant after the battery replacement and how can I test that my iPhone is sealed correctly?
Forget about water resistance after you open it, unless the replacement would be done in clean factory conditions and with a perfect new housing and gaskets everything you can get a moderate splash resistance, that’s all. But it was about the same even before opening it..just a bit better. Water resistance is a theoretical measure that applies to new devices in controlled lab conditions, the rest is more or less just luck.
