I bought new apple certified cables that didn’t seem to fit so I had them send me replacements thinking it was the lightning connector. However these also didn’t fit. I tried them on my boyfriend’s 7 and they fit perfectly. I took my old cable out and checked the connector and it actually looks like it’s been sheered down. Is it looks like the piece that fits into the groove to hold it in place is protruding out on one side. Is there an inexpensive way to repair this?
Looks like the sides of the charger broke off inside of the charging port. Also explains why your new ones aren’t fitting into your phone. You can grab a tooth pick or skinny tweezers and try to pull the pieces out. If you aren’t confident, you can watch how to do it on YouTube, or take it to a repair shop. They should do it for free.
