Hello, i want to know if you think it’s worth to upgrade a IMac 27” 2010 for video editing with premiere pro 2019. And if the answer is yes, what would the upgrades be? thanks a lot
If you are working on short vids then this system will work but it is limited! macOS High Sierra (10.13) is the highest that it will officially support. It supports HEVC (High-Efficiency Video Coding), but it does not support hardware accelerated HEVC which most video editors prefer for larger work. I think its time to move to a more powerful system. I would recommend going with at least a 2013 model and get a system which has at least a 512 GB blade SSD (1 TB would be better) as well as a large HD or SSHD drive (dual drive config). Upgrade it to at least 16 GB of RAM.
