hi, my imac from what I can tell is a regular 2006 imac but when I look in ABOUT IMAC for the info, at the top of the info box it says : person’s name imac G5 and further on down in software extension it says yes to having 64 bit. this computer was given to me by a relative but he cant remember if he’s father in law ever upgraded it. how can I tell for sure if it has or not. thanks gerry

If you’re asking is it Intel - it’s not. The PowerPC 970 “G5” has 64-bit data paths and registers with native support for 32-bit application code. It additionally includes the AltiVec “Velocity Engine” vector processor and “two independent double-precision floating-point units”. If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.
